Benedictine College Monastic Encounter


“Do You Desire Life?” - Register Below


Encounter the monastic life with the monks of St. Benedict’s Abbey. Be introduced to the monastic life by living, praying, and working with the monks from September 4th to September 5th.

*This retreat is specifically intended for Benedictine College freshmen and sophomore men.

Check-in will be from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m on the first day, with the retreat kicking off at 4:00 p.m. and concluding at 1:30 p.m. on the last day.

Schedule Highlights:

  • Daily Mass and Liturgy of the Hours with the monks

  • Retreat conferences on discernment and silence

  • Time for personal prayer, Lectio Divina, and reflection

  • Helping the monks with scheduled work tasks

  • Meals and fellowship with the monastic community

  • An opportunity to speak one-on-one with a monk
